Here I sit, sipping on a cup of mediocre warm liquid. It tastes very much like coffee, though not brewed up to my notion of perfection. Like most over-thinking souls, every sip seems to bring me deeper into the irresistible vortex of connecting unrelated visions to one another and coming up with assumptions -which would probably wreak havoc on my already stained canvas of sanity.
First they said, "don't be afraid" because fears can be defeated; conquered, and God will always be with you. Then another said, "don't be afraid to fall" because inevitably, you'd rise up again and you'll be stronger. "Don't be afraid to fall in love madly" they quoted. And up till now, I'm still superlatively perplexed by that quote.
To fall (e.g. falling off a cliff) is already quite a haunting image. Quite daunting to even act on. There's nothing comfortable to cushion that free fall. What more, to fall in love. Love is quite a subjective issue and as the cliched saying goes, nothing in this world is permanent. As if ending with a subjective word isn't enough, adding "madly" at the end of it seems to heighten the level of ambiguity in the quote.
In this loco messed up world, it's easy to find all things mad -for the wrong reasons. They YOLO their way through everything, that nothing matters much anymore. So is it foolish then, to fall in love madly now?
